Voluntary product recall: Foldable hairdryers

As a precaution, TRESemmé Philips is voluntarily recalling and replacing a Foldable Hairdryer produced between February 2006 and November 2008.

The affected product is:

TRESemmé Philips SalonDry Travel Hairdryer HP4829

To find out what model number your hairdryer is please look under the “is my product affected” tab

In very rare cases the hairdryer can overheat when left plugged into the electrical connection. This poses a potential fire hazard, even when the appliance is switched off.

How do I know if my hairdryer is affected?

To confirm if your hairdryer is affected, please follow these two steps:

  1. Identify the Product Type Number HP4829 on the appliance. This can be found printed on the hairdryer on the side of the handle.
  2. Identify the Production Code Number on the appliance. This is a four-digit number printed into the plastic of the body of the appliance under the lower right-hand corner of the product information area.

    The following Production Codes are affected:

    • For Product Type Number HP4829, the affected Production Code Numbers are those between 0000-1115

If your appliance is affected, you should call our Customer Services UK team on 0844 338 04 89

If your appliance is not affected you do not need to take any further action.

If your hairdryer is affected, there are three ways to receive your replacement appliance:

  3. You can go directly to a Philips Service Center. Please click here [INSERT LINK] to find your nearest location. Depending on local availability of replacement stock you may need to register at your location and return later to pick up your replacement appliance

You can continue to safely use your current hairdryer until your replacement is available. However, it is important that you unplug your appliance from the electrical connection when you are not using it. If during use your appliance does not operate normally then do not continue to use it.
